What's the best time to visit Tanzania?
The best time is June-October for dry season wildlife viewing. January-March is great for calving season in the southern Serengeti. March-May and November are green season with fewer crowds and lower prices. Zanzibar is best June-October and December-February.
Do I need a visa for Tanzania and Zanzibar?
Yes, most visitors need a visa. US, UK, and EU citizens can obtain e-visas online or visas on arrival. The same visa covers Tanzania Mainland and Zanzibar. We recommend applying for e-visa at least 2 weeks before travel. Rwanda and Uganda also require visas.
